INSHORE PIECE OF HEAVEN….OFFSHORE PIECE OF MIND….
Here’s the premiere off-the-beaten-track coastal family fun-and-fishing boat, incredibly versatile and comfortable in skinnier water, delivering confident, capable offshore performance far beyond others.
As you read this, we’re moving in to the Raleigh Convention Center for the annual Raleigh Convention Center Boat Show held this Thursday through Sunday, February 6th through the 9th. We’ve got an exciting lineup of Grady-White and Chris-Craft boats.
From the Freedom series, Grady-White’s line of dual console boats, we’ll have the 2014 Grady-White 192 Freedom, 2014 Grady-White 205 Freedom, 2014 Grady-White 225 Freedom, 2014 Grady-White 275 Freedom, 2014 Grady-White 335 Freedom. From the Canyon and Fisherman series of center console boats we’ll have the 2014 Grady-White 257 Fisherman and the 2014 Grady-White 306 Canyon. Also, for the first time, we’ll have the all-new 2014 Grady-White 251 Coastal Explorer.
The 251 Coastal Explorer is the first in a new series of boats. The low hull side Coastal Explorer has all the fishing features you’d expect in a Grady, but it is loaded with neat features for those summer days at the island. This boat is completely new and we’re excited to bring it to Wrightsville Beach and the Raleigh Convention Center Boat Show.
Atlantic Marine has been nicknamed by Chris-Craft executives as the “Catalina Kings!” The Catalina series, an outboard center console line, provides the elegant design and superior fit, finish, and selection of materials that set these center console boats apart from the others. In keeping with our nickname, we’ll have the 2014 Chris-Craft 26 Catalina and the 2014 Chris-Craft 29 Catalina on display.
Parking for the boat show is available in the underground parking deck and connects to the convention center via tunnel. Enter the deck on West Lenoir Street between Salisbury and Fayetteville Streets; or, enter 24 West Lenoir Street, Raleigh in your GPS. As you come down the escalators to the exhibit hall floor, you’ll see our Grady-White and Chris-Craft booths to the far right of the hall. Look for the large triangle red, white, and blue Atlantic Marine sign hanging from the ceiling.
Here are the show hours:
Thursday, February 6th: 11:00am – 8:00pm
Friday, February 7th: 11:00am – 8:00pm
Saturday, February 8th: 10:00am – 8:00pm
Sunday, February 9th: 11:00am – 5:00pm

GREENVILLE, NC: Grady-White is pioneering a whole new category of inshore/offshore

its kind from Grady-White, and is designed to provide a piece of heaven for practicality,
utility, ease of use and family fun with comfort around back waters, beaches, waterways,
sounds and inlets, along with Grady-Built peace of mind. Here’s the Grady-White answer
for off-the-beaten-track coastal fun and versatility in skinnier water. Although created for

versatility than any boat in that genre.
The 251 CE Coastal Explorer features low gunwales that provide very easy access to the
water, and a bow ladder for beaching. This low profile look is all new for Grady-White, and
the boat offers performance to match its style. Transformable seats forward and aft go
from bench style to lounge, and make the boat perfect for playing, relaxing, and fun for
socializing. As with every Grady-White, add rods and tackle and you have a fishing boat
that is truly without peer. Packed with so many features, there’s something for everyone in
the family on this boat.

Chris Hanna, a star independent hauler in the hit A&E series “Shipping Wars” was assigned the transport of our new 2014 Chris-Craft 26 Catalina from the plant in Sarasota Florida on Thursday. How cool is that?
Chris Hanna and Robbie Welsh, known as the “hotshot couple” own and operate a full time independent hauling business and often film with the TV series when assigned the most challenging hauls such as the recent transport of a DC-10 aircraft through Miami Florida.
Shipping Wars is a reality TV series on A&E that began airing on January 10, 2012.The show follows six independent carriers who have discovered that fortunes can be made transporting items that traditional carriers either cannot or will not haul. The series also features uShip, the world’s largest online auction house for independent truckers.
In a typical episode, the carriers place bids on two jobs listed on uShip, in a reverse auction format. Each client has the option of awarding the job either to the lowest bidder, or to a higher bidder based on feedback from previous clients. Ties are broken in favor of the carrier with the higher average feedback rating. Winners load their cargo and attempt to deliver it intact by the client’s deadline. Feedback ratings from clients are displayed as the loads are delivered. At the end of the episode, each carrier’s net profit or loss is tallied on-screen, with the expenses (fuel, labor, late-delivery penalties, fines, etc.) subtracted from the bid amount to determine the overall profit or loss. At times, a carrier will arrange to haul one or more additional loads on the same trip, with the extra money figured into his/her tally.

With so many opportunities for boating fun available today, there’s no reason why anyone can’t take advantage of the benefits that recreational boating has to offer. Read our personal list of Top Reasons for Boating below:
1. Boating Improves Quality of Life
It’s a proven fact that recreational boating goes a long ways towards improving your quality of life. The minute you start to move forward on a boat, you’ll notice how easy it is to leave your troubles behind. Recreational boating fun provides a constructive outlet for entertainment that reduces stress and provides enriching opportunities for self discovery, whether it’s learning how to water ski or simply enjoying the warm glow of an evening sunset.
2. Boating is an Affordable Recreation Alternative
Are you under the impression that recreational boating is too expensive for your current budget? Think again. Many boats can be financed for under $200 a month. Dedicated boating lenders will work with you to help you save money and get you the best financing package available. For help determining if you can afford to buy a boat, including boat loan basics, a boat loan calculator, and more, please contact us and we will be glad to help!
3. Water Access is Closer than you Think
Did you know that about ninety percent of Americans live less than an hour from a navigable body of water? This means that water access is a lot closer and more convenient than you might think.
4. Boating Fun Helps you Bond with Friends and Family
Fifty four percent of all households, in a study by the National Marine Manufacturers Association, listed fishing as their favorite boating activity (followed by cruising and relaxing with family and friends). In other words, to many people the best part about boating doesn’t revolve around the latest waterskiing tricks or the number of fish caught- the best part of boating is simply the opportunities it provides for boating fun with friends and family. Recreational boating is quality time spent away from the television set and the video games, creating an atmosphere that brings people together and creates fond memories to last a lifetime.
5. Boating Helps Reduce Stress
We can’t stress the statistics enough – numerous studies have shown that a little bit of boating fun each day can go a long way towards reducing stress. In fact, a National Marine Manufacturers Association survey of over 1,000 American households listed boating in the top-three of all stress-relieving activities.
6. Boating is Convenient
As we pointed out above, since over ninety percent of Americans live less than an hour’s drive from an accessible body of water, you can be enjoying the fresh air and water in no time.
In fact, the convenience of boating makes it possible to hop on your boat for a mini-vacation whenever you feel like it, as an alternative to other family recreation activities which can quickly add up to become even more expensive and time-consuming.
7. Boating is an Engaging and Rewarding Activity
Recreational boating offers lots of opportunities for personal growth. Whether you’re instilling your child with extra confidence as they learn how to properly secure a line, or you’re enjoying the delicate taste of fresh fish that you caught yourself, boating recreation provides many different rewards for all ages.
8. Boating is Good Exercise
From a rigorous sailing excursion to an invigorating run on waterskis, boating provides sporting enthusiasts with many active endeavors to choose from. In fact, we’d argue that simply breathing in the brisk wind coming off the water in itself can go a long ways towards strengthening one’s constitution- not to mention the additional physical and psychological benefits in terms of relaxation and stress relief.
9. Recreational Boating is Easy to Learn
If you’re new to boating, take heart. With so many available boating classes and courses to choose from, you’ll be out on the water before you know it. Whether you’ve always wanted to learn how to sail, or you’re just interested in new ways to spend quality time with your family, a wealth of available boater education courses make boating easier to learn than ever. To learn more about finding boating instruction near you, please contact us and we will get you to the right place!
10. Boating is FUN
Last but definitely not least, one of the top reasons for boating is simply because it’s so much fun. There are so many activities to explore when it comes to boating, whether you like to fish, waterski, snorkel, or simply enjoy relaxing on the water.
